The Study Visa Document Checklist: Everything to Prepare Before You Apply

Most student visa refusals are not about weak candidates — they are about weak files. A complete, consistent document set is the most controllable factor in your application. Here is the checklist we build for every student we place.
Academic documents
- Offer or acceptance letter from your institution (CAS in the UK, I-20 in the US, LOA in Canada)
- All mark sheets and degree certificates, from Class 10 onward
- English test results (IELTS/PTE) meeting the band-by-band requirement
- Education credential assessments where the destination requires them
Financial documents
This is where files fail. Visa officers look for funds that are sufficient, seasoned and explainable:
- Bank statements showing the required amount held for the qualifying period — sudden large deposits invite refusal
- Education loan sanction letters, where funding is borrowed
- Sponsor documents: relationship proof, income tax returns and employment evidence for whoever funds you
- Country-specific instruments — Canada's GIC, Germany's blocked account — opened correctly and on time
Personal and supporting documents
- Passport valid well beyond your course end date
- Statement of purpose that explains, honestly, why this course and this country fit your goals
- Medical examinations and police clearances where required
- Passport photos to each country's exact specification — small errors cause real delays
The consistency test
Officers cross-check everything: names across documents, dates across mark sheets, funds against declared sponsors, your SOP against your academic history. Before filing, we audit every file for consistency the way a visa officer would read it — because that is who it must convince.
Start collecting early: financial seasoning periods and credential assessments take months, not days. A free consultation will tell you exactly which of these documents your destination needs and the order to prepare them.
